06 Apr Timboon Cruisers head off again
For the past 32 Aprils, a contingent of Timboon cyclists and their friends have ridden their bikes 520km from the Murray River at Swan Hill to the Moyne River at Port Fairy.
The Murray to Moyne is a team relay event.
Along the way, the group raises awareness and funds for our local healthcare service as well as promoting the fabulous health and social benefits of riding a bike.
This weekend sees 10 riders and 2 support crew participating, including first time cruisers Kobe and his dad Andrew Henderson – a member of the nursing staff at Timboon and District Healthcare Service.
With perfect riding conditions forecast, the group hopes to arrive in Hamilton after their 410km day trip, for a rest at about 10:30pm.
If you would like to welcome them home, head to Port Fairy at approx. 10am Sunday to join in the celebration and spectacle of over 1200 riders finishing the 24 hour event.
Over 30 wonderful years with more than 30,000 riders and 46,000 kilometers, the Murray to Moyne participants have raised $20,000,000.
This year’s Timboon Cruisers are:
Sophie and Matt Bowker, Todd Baxter, Steph Hibberd, Kobe and Andrew Henderson, Mark and Amanda Dixon, John Jardine, Scott McFarlane, Matt Grstein and Roland Tucker
