17 May TDHS Celebrating National Volunteer Week
This week is National Volunteer Week, a week-long event celebrating and recognising the vital work volunteers do and to say thank you.
This year’s theme is ‘The Change Makers’, highlighting the powerful impact volunteers make supporting individuals, communities and the nation. Volunteering has the power to change the lives of both volunteers and those they help. It offers opportunities for social, economic, and cultural inclusion, and improves our health and wellbeing.
Even though we are very aware that no words, or special week, can truly convey what our volunteers mean to Timboon and District Healthcare Service (TDHS) and our community, we hope that they understand how genuinely grateful we are to have them as part of our team.
In this moment we would like to take the opportunity to recognise, celebrate and thank our volunteers, past and present, for their dedicated hard work, depth of commitment and the invaluable donation of their gift of time and energy.
TDHS could not operate as we do without our volunteers. In a day and age when there are increasingly more rules and requirements to volunteering, we are overwhelmed by the generosity and willingness of our volunteers to dedicate and commit themselves to TDHS and our consumers. They make our community stronger, especially during times of need, crisis, or isolation.
We truly are ‘Working together for a healthy community’.
