Social Support Group Enjoy a Visit to Lake Purrumbete

The Social Support Group recently enjoyed a visit to Lake Purrumbete. Lake Purrumbete Angling Club volunteers Rob, Roger and Don gave us a talk about the lake. They said that the lake is about 45m deep in the middle and has many birds who call the lake home.

We walked out on the 70-metre jetty to the floating pontoon on the end, which was easy access for us all. We cast our lines and waited for the fish to bite. The only catch of the day went to Bill who caught a water hen! This created great excitement amongst everyone including the angling club volunteers. The water hen was okay, as was Bill. The water hen was released back into the wild.

Our trip home took us along many back roads – much to the delight of the social support group participants.
