Gary Castledine appointed TDHS CEO

Local resident Gary Castledine has been announced this morning as our new chief executive officer.

Mr Castledine will assume the role on 6 February 2023.

Mr Castledine is an experienced health professional having worked with Ambulance Victoria as a paramedic, and in management and leadership roles for over 20 years, much of that time spent in the Barwon South West region.

In addition to his experience in the health industry, Mr Castledine has completed extensive studies and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science, Bachelor of Arts, Diploma of Ambulance Paramedic Studies, and a Masters of Ethics and Legal Studies.

Mr Castledine lives locally with his family and is an active member of the local community including involvement with the Timboon Demons Football Netball Club.

TDHS Board Chair Frank Carlus said that the appointment follows a rigorous Australia wide search which was driven by an external recruitment agency and followed Departmental processes.

“We look forward to welcoming Gary to TDHS in his new role in February,” Mr Carlus said.

“I would like to express our gratitude to Tanya Wines who has been our Interim CEO over the last few months. Tanya has tackled the role with enthusiasm and skill, and that has enabled us to continue to deliver high quality, safe and effective services to our community,” Mr Carlus added.

Mr Carlus thanked the contribution, support and diligence of all staff at TDHS.

“We have all faced significant challenges at work and in the broader community, but the commitment to TDHS, our values, and the communities we serve never falters and that is something that the Board and I are very proud of,” Mr Carlus said.
