27 Feb Extreme Fire Danger Rating | Wednesday 28 February
Tomorrow, Wednesday 28 February, is expected to reach extreme temperatures and has been declared an Extreme Fire Danger Rating day. It has also been declared a day of Total Fire Ban.
Extreme Fire Danger Rating
An Extreme Fire Danger rating means:
- Fires will spread quickly and be extremely dangerous;
- It is time to check your bushfire plan and that your property is fire ready;
- If a fire starts, take immediate action;
- Leaving bushfire risk areas early in the day is your safest option.
For more information about warnings and restrictions and how to plan and prepare, while at home or travelling, please visit Welcome to CFA | CFA (Country Fire Authority) and to keep updated on weather warnings, please visit Victoria Weather and Warnings (bom.gov.au).
Also, a friendly reminder that Timboon and District Healthcare Service is NOT a Bushfire Place of Last Resort. A ‘Bushfire Place of Last Resort’ also known as a ‘Neighbourhood Safer Place’ (NSP) is a place of last resort when all other bushfire plans have failed. Your safety or survival at one of these locations is not guaranteed. Bushfire Places of Last Resort in our Shire are:
