TDHS COVID-19 update from CEO, Rebecca Van Wollingen September 14

COVID-19 update from CEO, Rebecca Van Wollingen

Wednesday, September 15 (12.30pm)

Dear community members,

You may have heard of a potential COVID-19 case, or exposure sites, in our community over the past 24 hours. We will continue to hear of these potential concerns while cases remain in the state.

We can confirm that there are currently no known cases or exposure sites in the district, but we encourage people to check the Department of Health website regularly, as this can change rapidly –

I personally engaged with the regional public health unit last night who put my concerns to rest.

The heightened concern provided us with a real time event to test all our planning, procedures and adherence to department directives.

We are pleased to report that our planning and procedures are robust and will continue to support us to ‘Work together for a healthy community’.

We held an emergency staff meeting late yesterday to communicate with all staff to confirm our practices and processes, and to discuss and alleviate any concerns.

Additional COVID-19 testing has been ‘stood up’ to cope with the potential for an influx of people wanting to get tested.

We do encourage anyone who is unwell or suspects exposure to COVID-19 to get tested immediately. Please call in advance, TDHS reception is available on 5558 6000, we will book you in for testing.

As previously stated, there are no confirmed cases and no known exposures in the district at this time. Please continue to check the Department of Health website for updates –

Thank you to everyone for maintaining their vigilance with safe COVID-19 practices, including being vaccinated where possible, maintaining social distancing, practicing hand hygiene and following the Department of Health’s directives.

Please continue to look after yourself and each other.

Rebecca Van Wollingen
Chief Executive Officer
