Brand new recliner lift chairs are now making life easier for Timboon and District Healthcare Service (TDHS) patients and staff, thanks to another successful annual appeal.

Chief executive officer Rebecca Van Wollingen said community donations for the 2019 appeal had reached $17,480 so far, which had already funded the purchase of six chairs.

The chairs help lift and lower patients and residents – significantly reducing risk for TDHS employees and volunteers.

“The purchase of these chairs is such a wonderful outcome for our patients, clients and our wonderful team of staff and volunteers,” Ms Van Wollingen said.

“It just amazes me how generous our community is, and I think that generosity gives us a great insight into how highly this health service is valued and cherished by locals.

“Through our annual appeal, we have been able to purchase chairs that contribute to our patient care and improve working conditions for our employees – it’s fantastic.

“It takes considerable resources to maintain and improve our services and facilities and we’re extremely grateful that our community shares our dedication to patient care.”

Ms Van Wollingen said donations were still being accepted. She reminded people that all donations of $2.00 and over were tax deductible.
