16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence 2021 | Pt1

Yesterday marked International Day for the Elimination of Violence against women and the first day of 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence.

The global initiative is designed to galvanise individuals, communities, and organisations to address gender inequalities, gender-based violence and take action to prevent violence before it starts.

The campaign ends on December 10, which is Human Rights Day, and aims to support the Victorian community to unpack what respect means, what it looks like and how to put it into practice in homes, relationships, workplaces, friendships, and communities.

Respect sits at the core of all safe, healthy, and equal relationships.

We are asking people to ‘call it out’ and intervene when witnessing gender inequality, sexism and harassment – drivers that can lead to family violence and, more broadly, violence against women.

Let’s work together for a safe, healthy and equal community.
