The Board of Directors has established a committee structure with terms of references and Annual Work Plans to assist in meeting its obligations. Timboon and District Healthcare Service continues to keep the community involved in its governance, with two of the four Board sub-committees including at least one consumer representative as a member.
The TDHS Board of Directors has established the following subcommittees:
- Clinical, Governance and Credentialing Committee
- Consumer Advisory Committee
- Finance, Audit and Risk Management Committee
- People, Culture and Remuneration Committee
To assist the Board of Directors in fulfilling its clinical governance responsibilities, ensuring TDHS provides safe, effective and person-centred care to the communities we serve.
The committee convenes seven times a year and works to an annual plan which ensures continuity and systemisation of processes.

To assist with the facilitation and coordination of community engagement and consumer feedback strategies as well as provide insight/advice on how Timboon and District Healthcare Service is meeting the needs of consumers and the community. This committee meets bi-monthly and consists of community members, who may be consumers, carers, or general community representatives. Members: Bronwyn Rantall (Chair), Airiz Dela (Student Representative), John Fox (Community member), Jeremy McDonald (Community member), Scott Munro (Community member) and Ellen Podbury (School Representative).
To provide assurance that the requirements of the Financial Management Act 1994 (Vic), Audit Act 1994 (Vic), Financial Management Regulations, Standing Directions of the Minister of Finance, Financial Reporting Directions, the Financial Management Compliance Framework, the Victorian Government Risk Management Framework, the Victorian Government Asset Management Accountability Framework and any other legal requirements are complied with.
This committee meets at least four times a year and its membership includes one community representatives.

To assist and advise the Board of Directors on matters relating to the performance management, remuneration and succession planning of the Chief Executive Officer. The PC&RC are an important vehicle for delivering TDHS’ strategic vision and includes the broader workforce and its culture.

Consumer Advisory Committee
Our Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC) is a strong and passionate voice for promoting partnership and improving care at all levels of healthcare service design and delivery.
Our CAC members:
- increase the consumer and community voice in how services are provided,
- raise issues that are of concern to TDHS consumers and their carers,
- assist TDHS to stay in touch with what is important to the people who use its services,
- assist in the development of documents, communication and programs to ensure they are appropriately targeted to the audience,
- attend meetings every second month,
- participate in training and education as required.

Retired secondary school PE teacher, Bronwyn Rantall, is thrilled to contribute to the wonderful place that TDHS is. Even though she is busy running an Airbnb business in Port Campbell, she had no hesitation in joining our Consumer Advisory Committee as she enjoys contributing to the local community and share the Committee’s desire to make TDHS meet the needs of the local community to the best of its ability. “Volunteering makes me feel connected to my amazing community, helps me to build friendships and gives me a sense of satisfaction that I am being a good role model for my kids.”

Scott moved to the South-West area 10 years ago from Melbourne and is married with two young children. He works at one of the local oil & gas companies and is interested in learning all about the local health system and how he can contribute to Timboon and District Healthcare Service and its many facets. “The more we give to our community, the more we will receive.”
Ellen Podbury
Ellen has lived in Timboon for the past 15 years with her husband and three young children. She is currently a teacher at Timboon P-12 School. Ellen is the school representative on the Committee and is passionate about health and wellbeing for not only the school community but also the wider community. “As a user of Timboon and District Healthcare Service, I want to contribute to its continued success.”
TDHS welcomes consumer representative applications from people of all ages and those from different cultures, ethnic backgrounds and people with disabilities. Diversity enables the CAC to provide suggestions and advice to TDHS that expresses a broad range of opinions, concerns and experiences.
